Match Facts England have won each of the 30 men’s Test matches they have played against Italy, including all 24 in the Guinness Men's Six Nations, their average margin of victory in those 24 Championship matches is 28 points. The last time Italy hosted England in the Guinness Men's Six Nations (2022) they failed to score a point as they lost 33-0, it was the first time they’d failed to score a single point against England in the Championship and the sixth and most recent time against any opposition in the tournament. Italy made the most dominant carries (181) and had the highest dominant carry rate (33%) of any nation in the Championship last year, while England averaged the most metres in contact of any side in the Guinness Six Nations in 2023, gaining 2.1 metres on average each time they carried into contact. Jamie George is set to captain England this year, the Saracens hooker has a 92% lineout success rate in his Guinness Six Nations career, the best rate of any player to attempt 100+ throws in the Championship. Federico Ruzza could win his 50th Test cap for Italy in this match; he won 41 lineouts in the Guinness Six Nations in 2023, over twice as many as any other player (Ollie Chessum, Thibaud Flament and James Ryan – 18 each) and was one of just two Italians to play every minute in the Championship last year (also Juan Ignacio Brex). Tommaso Allan (153) is 10 points away from overtaking Diego Dominguez (162) as Italy’s top points scorer in the Six Nations, while one try would see him become the Azzurri’s top try scorer in the Championship (currently 7, level with Mirco Bergamasco and Sergio Parisse); Allan also needs just 11 points to reach 500 in his Test career overall.
