Ingrid Bengtson of Walnut MS, enrolled in the NEMCC adult education program at Ripley in September of 2022. Ingrid had been home-schooled and needed assistance with earning her HSE and planning for her future. She earned the Smart Start Credential and a Silver WorkKeys credential. Ingrid earned her GED/HSE in November and scored high scores on her sub tests. Then she decided to enroll in the spring 2023 EMT Basics course offered through the Continuing Education program at NEMCC and completed the class in May of 2023. She is scheduled to take her EMT License exam and has applied to work as an EMT in several surrounding hospitals. Ingrid plans to gain experience as an EMT and then pursue the Paramedics certification.
