Promote the Mission of MAACE

As a member of MAACE, Networking and Involvement are primary ways to promote the mission of the association. Join a committee, attend the conference, nominate yourself to be a member of the Board of Directors, contribute to MAACE publications and/or help with the developing MAACE website.

The newsletter, Topics, is published several times a year and highlights activities of MAACE and its members. Topics also includes features on local, state and national resources, organizations, conferences and people relevant to adult education professionals. Your contributions are always welcome and appreciated. Chair: Julie Brockman

A juried professional journal, Options features contributions from adult education professionals. Published periodically, the purpose of the journal is to focus on applications of adult learning theory, concepts and ideas. The goals of Options are to promote an atmosphere which encourages critical questions and alternative approaches to problems related to lifelong learning of adults and to contribute to a comprehensive understanding of adult learning and ways to enhance the learning potential of adults. Can you recruit writers? Chair: Cheryl Aubuchon

The Annual Professional Development Conference, traditionally held in March, features presentations and speakers from all aspects of adult and continuing education. Also, the conference usually includes a research-to-practice session. You can be involved in the conference in many ways. Chair: Karen Peacock

The Membership Directory provides members with a valuable link with other adult educators. Help spread the word to your colleagues about the benefits of Membership. Brochures are available. Chairs: Ellen Holmes

Professional Development events in special interest areas are offered periodically for and by MAACE members. Share your ideas about possible events. Chair:  Ken Walsh

The focus of the Communications committee is on developing and maintaining the MAACE website. Your expertise would be welcome. Chair: Kelli Pugh Dixon

New energy, creativity and commitment are vital for the continuing growth of the association. Consider becoming a member of the Board of Directors when the Call for Nominations is published this December. Chair: Kelli Pugh Dixon
